Barn Wood Flooring
Antique barn wood flooring is a breathtaking flooring upgrade over traditional flooring options. Reclaimed hardwood flooring has a unique surface texture full of nail holes, worm holes, natural patina, scratches and scuffs acquired from the years of the daily abuse these floors took. The rustic character and history of reclaimed wood flooring is not only functional but also brings a feeling of history and the spirit of country living. These floors are just as much at home in an old farmhouse as in a newly constructed home. While the floors from each old barn are unique and no one else will have the same one, picking real wood floors is much more difficult than going to the hardware store to buy them.
Our Farmhouse old barn wood flooring tends to be a wider plank (8”-12” wide) than the typical 3”- 4” widths we are used to today. Board lengths can range from 4’ – 14’. The lumber can made to have a more rugged look with hand hewn shaping, which is shaped with hard blows of a heavy cutting tool like an ax or chisel or flooring can be milled and made smooth. Flooring is typically offered in pine or hemlock.
